Vassilios Lekidis

Ph.D. in earthquake resistant structures (Finite Element Analysis) in 1994. Since 1984 researcher of the Institute of Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (ITSAK). Member of the board of Directors of  ITSAK (1987, 1988, 1997,1998, 2003). Director of the Institute from 1989-1991 and 1999-2007. President of the Permanent Committee of Technical Chamber of Greece for Earthquake Planning and Protection. Member of the Committee of Civil Engineers in Greece. Research interests include: Earthquake resistance design for special structures in Greece; Parametric analysis for seismic Codes; Design Spectra in Greece  and Balkan region; Earthquake Risk Reduction in Greece; Parametric analysis of the inelastic behaviour of reinforced concrete frames; Development of shell and core Finite elements suitable for elastoplastic analysis  of earthquake resistant Structures; Experimental analysis of special structures. Author/co-author of more than 100 papers published in Intern. Journals or Intern. & National Conferences. Participation in more than 30 research programmes.
