Michalis Fragiadakis
Dr. Michalis Fragiadakis, adjunct lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Thessaly, PhD from the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, Bachelor and an MSc from NTUA, MSc in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, Imperial College, London, UK. Post-doctoral student at NTUA, in collaboration with University of Pavia (Italy) and University of Cyprus. His research is focused on earthquake engineering and on computational methods for frame structures, reliability analysis methods and to soft-computing methods for analysis and seismic design of buildings. He has participated in national and international conferences, while he is author of 82 publications (12 book chapters, 18 journal and 52 conference papers). His work has been recognized with approximately 70 citations. Dr. Fragiadakis has also developed the following activities: i)Member of Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), Greek Association of Computational Mechanics (GRACM), Hellenic Society for Earthquake Engineering (HSEE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), ii) editor of 1 book: “Computational Methods in Earthquake Engineering”, Edited by M. Papadrakakis, M. Fragiadakis, N.D. Lagaros (Eds.), Springer-Verlag, Berlin (2011), iii) Co-organized 2 International Conferences (COMPDYN 2009, COMPDYN 2011), and member of the organizing committee of 1 National Conference (GRACM 2011), iv) Referee in 12 International Journals, v) Organized 5 Special Sessions in International Conferences and vi) Speaker in 16 International Conferences.
